A major misunderstanding about the rent to own market is that potential buyers need to go to a lender first. Not true.
The right realtor will have a relationship with a lender or mortgage company, shepherd the buyer through the credit repair discussion with that lender. The agent can work with their affiliate attorneys and lenders to structure a contract that’s right for the buyer. They’ll have a list of homes for you to consider, so you don’t have to sit on your thumbs waiting for the lender to respond. If the lender gives you the green light, and states that you can qualify in 12 or 24 months, you’ll have already done the preliminary search, before you hit the road with the agent to find the home you want. And, you’re ready to move in.
