The Intracoastal Waterway is one of the most unique combinations of natural and man-made navigation systems in the world. The ICW runs for 3,000 miles along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. The natural beauty, fishing, sailing and ocean access afforded by the Intracoastal make it a prime location for waterfront living in Jacksonville. The ICW offers some stunning waterfront views, with exciting new and elegant established neighborhoods like magnificent Marsh Landing in Ponte Vedra. Many of these upscale communities have direct boating access to navigate down a calm, river-like waterway, extending south to St. Augustine, and beyond, as well as northbound with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean. By road, from just about any location on the ICW, it's no more than a 10 minute jaunt to Jacksonville's sandy beaches. The Mayo Clinic is also located in this area, just off Butler Blvd before crossing over the Intracoastal Waterway.
